Science Fair Projects
**SCIENCE FAIR UPDATE**
Students will begin research and preparation in January and projects will be due the week following Spring Break. Science Fair is mandatory for all Pre-AP classes. Students enrolled in regular science classes are also encouraged to participate.
Each project must contain the following (clearly identified on the display):
- Problem/Purpose – scientific question that can be answered by experimentation
- Hypothesis – an educated prediction answering your scientific question (This should be an "If…then…" statement.)
- Materials – all materials and equipment needed to carry out the experiment
- Procedures – a detailed explanation of how the experiment will be performed
- Variables – manipulated, responding
- Data – graphs, charts, tables, pictures, diagrams, etc.
- Analysis – explanation of observations, data and/or results – a summary of what your data has shown you – why did the results occur – what did the experiment prove – was your hypothesis correct
- Conclusion – answer your problem/purpose statement – what does it all add up to – what is the value of your project – what further study do you recommend, if any – what would be the next question to ask – if you repeated your project, what would you change
*All information contained on the display board must be computer generated. Hand-written information is not accepted. This includes graphs, charts, and tables.
