The Rice School program is built on the premise that all students are able to achieve success in the visual arts. Those coming into the program considering themselves artist will see growth in their abilities. Those entering the program unsure of their aptitude should acquire, at the very least, a level of confidence that far exceeds their initial expectations.
Grades six through eight have the opportunity to take art as an 
elective.Functioning under block scheduling, each session extends 90minutes.
Curriculum is based on unit studies focusing on the exploration of various art media. It is through these long term examinations that the subsequent studies of design concepts, interdiscliplinany connections and historical implications are explored.
