Reading Fun This Summer
- Houston Independent School District's Millionaire Club: This summer the Houston Independent School District is challenging the 200,000 + students enrolled in HISD schools to read a minimum of five books each, for a total of one million books and to be a part of the Millionaire Book Club! Students who participate will have an opportunity to earn prizes from HISD and Rice Students will also receive an additional prize from our school. Read between 5 and 10 books, record the title and author, and return to the library in August. Millionaire certificates went home with Elementary students and will be mailed by HISD to Middle School students-----however, if you lose the certificate, any plain paper record will do.
- Barnes and Noble Summer Reading club with Andrew Clements: Kids can earn a free book from Barnes and Noble this summer by reading 8 books. See your local Barnes and Noble store for more details. http://www.barnesandnoble.com/summerreading/?bnit=H&bnrefer=kl
