The Rice School/We have an excetional technology program here at The Rice School. As we are a K-8 school student have opportunities to interact on various levels.
Students at The Rice School / La Escuela Rice use computer technology as a tool for learning throughout their subjects.
Technology is integrated from kindergarten and our middle school students use technology to complete projects in their content area courses. Every student and teacher has an email account. Middle school students are also given the option of choosing technology as one of their electives. We offer Technology Applications as well as more advanced courses where students learn and use CSS, video,

The foundation of our students' computer skills is our technology curriculum. Beginning in Kindergarten, they attend classes in the use of technology. Keyboarding, web and file navigation, data management, and multimedia development are a part of the basic toolkit of skills students learn. Based on Texas Education Association standards and the skills outlined in the US Secretary of labor's report on necessary skills, our rigorous training includes several levels of classes and an advanced problem-based learning study.
Middle school technology classes are researching conflict and compromise in history. We will use the research to create website projects for National History Day. This is a history fair competittion held annually. Check back to see the winners.
